Q – When and where are Town Council meetings?
Answer: 2nd Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in Town Hall. Contact the Town Clerk for more information at (864) 944-2819.  Copies of board meeting Minutes can be found online here.

 Q – How is the Town of Council governed?
Answer:  The Town of Salem follows the Council form of government.  Under this form of government, residents elect a Mayor and Town Council.  The Town of Salem has a five-member  Mayor and Council , all of which are elected in a non-partisan election. 

Q – Who handles Police Dispatch (911) calls?
Answer – The Oconee County  911 Communications Center handles dispatch for the Town of Salem and surounding communites of Tamassee, Jocassee, Keowee as well  Nearby Towns od WestUnion and Walhalla.  It is located in Walhalla.  More information about the 911 Dispatch Center is available at
